BODRUM · M* H*** A*** HOUSE · MATTE-SATIN WHITE PAINTED CAST · OCTOBER 2026

Q was born from a figure that appeared in my mind the first time I saw the architectural project, as I looked at the space in the middle of the pool: a white, simple, silent form gliding across the water.
I felt that neither a realistic figure nor a purely abstract mass would belong in this setting. I approached Q through the language of biomorphic abstraction, as a living being, a swan, distilled to its essence. It sits close to Brâncuși’s pursuit of gathering form into a single gesture, and to Arp’s organic lines.
The project was developed in close collaboration with the architectural office, and the design and its decisions were entrusted to me. In the early sketches I worked with curving, amorphous surfaces; as the lines grew simpler, the form found its own identity and became Q.
The minimalist “less is more” sensibility that runs through the entire house also shaped Q’s language: a line without excess, a single colour, and a quiet dialogue with the water.
